FISI 3001: General Physics I
Description
This is the first part (mostly Mechanics) of the introductory physics course without calculus for non-science majors. Topics include: One- dimensional motion; Vectors and their algebra; Motion in a Plane; Newton's Laws; Conservation of energy and linear momentum, center of mass, torque and conservation of angular momentum; Harmonic motion; Dynamics of rigid bodies, moments of inertia and kinetic energy of rotation; Gravitational two body problem and Kepler's laws; Waves; Fluids. At the level of the book "Physics" by Giancoli.
